about the STEELE CENTER
The Steele Children's Research Center logo is a puzzle with several pieces missing. Each piece is unique. So too is each researcher at the Steele Center - each with specialized expertise and interests. But the pieces interlock to create a unified picture. And here, through collaboration within our faculty and throughout the Arizona Health Sciences Center, we work together to find the missing pieces of information about children's diseases that puzzle us still.

The Steele Children's Research Center is one of the eight centers of excellence at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Internationally known scientists and physicians, who also are professors in the UA Department of Pediatrics, work together to research causes and develop cures for childhood illnesses and diseases. The physicians who work for the Steele Center and the UA Department of Pediatrics play a unique role in the community.

Here are some stories - children whose lives have been changed because of the work of the Steele Center and children who remind us how far we have to go.
