Arizona Elks Major Projects

History

In Arizona, Elks help children in two distinct ways.

We have sponsored research at the University of Arizona's "Steele Children's Research Center" since 1992 with over $4 million in donations. We remodeled and modernized the "Arizona Elks Clinic for Children and Young Adults" and provide funds for an endowed chair in Neonatology.

We are also very proud of our Elks Youth Camp located in the Sierra Ancha Mountains in northeast Arizona. This camp is open and available to all youth groups throughout the state for a nominal fee.

Please take time to visit both portions of our website. Please call us at the numbers shown if you have any questions.

William "Bill" Foucher, President Arizona Elks Major Projects, Inc.

Steele Children's Research Center

The physician/scientists take care of 28,000 sick children each year at the Steele Children's Research Center. Some with simple problems like ear infections. Others with life-threatening illnesses. Our goal is to give each one of them a better chance at better health. Please consider adding your support to the research efforts at the Steele Children's Research Center - to create a healthier future for all children. For more information, please call 520-626-7051 or click here...

AEMP exceeds $5,000,000 in contributions to Steele Memorial Research Center in Tucson (Feb 14th, 2012)

Arizona Elks Major Projects is proud to announce that donations to the Steele Center in Tucson, Arizona have surpassed five million dollars over the past twenty years. Included in that figure is a fully paid endowment in Neonatology of two million dollars. The interest and investments from that endowment will fund Neonatal related research at the Steele Center in perpetuity.

We, the members of the Arizona Elks Association along with our fathers and grandfathers, dating back to 1925, have made this possible. This represents the power of membership. It represents all the raffle tickets you bought, all your responses to various appeals, all the additions you made while paying your annual dues, all the years you played in the State Golf Tournament, all the donations to the 365 Club and Cherish a Child appeal. Members please accept our thanks. This is truly amazing!

Money over and above the five million dollar figure has been used to support the Arizona Elks Youth Camp for the last nine years. This has been a second Major Project and is half paid for at this time. It has been used by Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Church groups, and has been the venue for many family reunions.

Special thanks also go to all the Elks and their ladies that have crocheted and hand knit hundreds of blankets, beanies and booties for the premature babies in the NICU. A big thank you also to all of you that have donated thousands of toys and books for the Arizona Elks Clinic For Children And Young Adults.

Let’s keep the ball rolling. You can make a direct donation to AEMP and/or include the AEMP as a beneficiary to your will or living trust. Let’s build our own legacy.
