Bequests & Living Trusts

What is a Bequest?

A gift designated in your will, usually through a clause, that leaves money or other property to your heirs, selected beneficiaries, or favorite charity.

What is a Trust?

Though there are several types, in general, a trust is a document in which a person (trustor) leaves property to another party (beneficiary). For example, a Living Trust allows the trustor to have access to and manage his/her assets during his/her lifetime. After death, the trust directs the distribution of assets to beneficiaries, including heirs and charities.

What Can You Do?

You can remember the children of Arizona by including a gift to Arizona Elks Major Projects in your will or trust or as a beneficiary in a life insurance policy. The professionals at the Steele Children’s Research conduct the research and treatment of a host of juvenile diseases and the difficulties that often accompany premature birth. The Arizona Elks Youth Camp offers hundreds of children the opportunity to learn the teamwork and skills that will enable them to become effective leaders in the future.

For most of us, our firs responsibility is to our families. However, if there is love left over, we encourage you to name AEMP in your will, trust, insurance policy or annuity. Leaving AEMP surplus funds from your estate will help in our quest to improve the lives of Arizona children; the future of our state and ultimately, our country.

How Do You Make Such a Gift?

Everyone should have a will or trust, your legal advisor can suggest the best plan for you. If you opt to leave a gift, please use the name Arizona Elks Major Projects, Inc. Remember, a living trust can be amended should you want to leave a gift and a codicil may be used to amend your will. Other types of trusts, some of which may offer tax savings opportunities, are available. These trusts can work to your benefit as well as that of Arizona Elks Major Projects. Consult your attorney and tax professional for information and guidance.
